2020 has seen many great successes for Geo Oceans; our team has spread their reach globally, celebrated our tenth anniversary, and unexpectedly won Subsea Energy Australia’s ‘Company of the Year’ award.
With these milestones in mind, we wanted to reflect on previous innovations and achievements that helped us get to where we are today.
Over the next several weeks, we will bring you several major milestones across the Vertech Group’s history.
In 2017, Geo Oceans pioneered new subsea robotics technology in floating offshore storage and offloaded FPSO to complete their first diverless UWILD inspection. This remarkable inspection resulted in significant cost savings and minimised health & safety risks.
This advanced inspection was completed using the Mini ROV CSS technology developed by Geo Oceans.
This technology eliminated the use of commercial divers, work class ROVs and dive support vessels for the FPSO UWILD class inspection. It enabled the facility to continue operation with minimal isolations and no production downtime.
This milestone was a key building block in our history.
We learned many important lessons from this scope, and three years later, we are well known for providing the best and most efficient UWILD inspections on the market.
